For all types of fishing and uses where less stretch is desired and a little more stiffness can be accepted. In addition, STROFT LS is characterized by the highest tensile strength that has been achieved with a monofilament.

The STROFT LS was developed on the basis of a new polyamide alloy. The focus of tuning is on reducing elongation while at the same time ensuring the highest possible tensile strength. This is what the abbreviation LS (for Low Stretch) stands for. The "Elongation Properties" diagram (see catalog under STROFT LS) shows an elongation at break (at 100% line load) of approx. 17% for STROFT LS (curve in purple). This is significantly lower than with the other lines made of polyamide or even with lines made of fluorocarbon. In terms of initial stretch (approx. 50% line load), LS is also significantly lower with an elongation of approx. 9%. (Only UHMWPE braided lines have even less stretch). In the area of fine load elongation (approx. 10% line load), LS is also below the other polyamide lines, but slightly above Fluorocarbon. With diameters between 0.10mm and 0.60mm, the tensile strength values are the highest that have been achieved with monofilaments to date. This applies both to the tensile strengths with knots and to the tensile strengths without knots. In the area of the thinner diameters, the values are still similar to the GTM, but then increase continuously. The 0.60mm STROFT LS carries an impressive 33.0 kg! So if it is important to have the lowest possible stretch with the highest possible load capacity and a slightly higher rigidity can be accepted, then STROFT LS is the first choice. The somewhat greater rigidity also requires a somewhat greater memory, which can also have a negative effect when tying knots (depending on the type of knot). If such a knot is not tied "correctly" (see catalog "Appendix"), the cord may "curl" slightly. The same applies to practical use, such as a sharp edge. However, this "squiggle" can be eliminated relatively easily if it is not too strong. If this is taken into account, the STROFT LS should also be of interest to fly fishermen. Compared to softer lines, the slightly higher rigidity favors the stretching and unrolling behavior of the fly leader, especially that of the tippet.
