Great Advantages
The improved tapers make these lines extremely easy to handle both when overhead or spey casting. Weight distribution has been moved backwards creating a smooth, controlled turnover with both mono and poly leaders and a variety of fly sizes. The concentration of weight in the back make the lines extremely easy to cast, with the rod loading instantly even with little line behind the rod in the D-loop. Because of this new type of taper, TRIPLE-D lines can be cut 1-2 grams lighter in weight than our classic POWER TAPER heads while still maintaining the same rod load and power in the cast. The longer, thinner tips will cut through both wind and water layers with ease, resulting in long casts and accurate depth control during fishing.
Main Features
- Improved balance of the energy transfer in the loop.
- Longer, lighter tips create longer and more controlled casts.
- Improved rod load through further improvement of the world-leading POWER TAPER profile.
- Significantly improved and more balanced turnover with both mono and poly leaders.
- TRIPLE-D lines feature more buoyant back ends for easier lift-off from the water.
- The TRIPLE-D concept improves control of depth and speed during fishing.
- Lines are marked with density and line weight.
- Factory-looped front ends for easy attachment of leaders.
FLOAT/HOVER/INTERMEDIATE
A line for the upper water levels fisherman. The H/I density in the first 2/3’s of the line will position your fly just below the surface if fished with a mono or fluorocarbon leader. The floating back portion of the line will help controlling fly speed as well as making mending and lift-off a lot easier than with a line that is fully submerged in the water.
FLOAT/INTERMEDIATE/SINK2
The Float/Intermediate/Sink2 line covers a very important level of water, just a little deeper than the Float/Hover/Intermediate line and this one still offers the option to work the floating back part of the line nicely, to control fly angle and speed through the water. A very popular line during the 2011 season.
FLOAT/SINK2/SINK4
This line is the next step down from the Float/Int/S2. The floating rear section helps the line fish at an angle, the sinking front section being longer than usual to help the line achieve greater depth. Because of the floating rear section, line speed i increased when fishing in low flows and the line is easier to control in swifter currents. This line became a real favourite with our field testers.
HOVER/INTERMEDIATE/SINK3
Lets you fish your flies in the mid-water range with full control of the speed throughout the swing, due to the more buoyant Hover back end. This will also ensure that you can fish your fly to the dangle without annoying snags midway into the line when the current speed drops during the end of the swing. Available in both single- and double hand version.
INTERMEDIATE/SINK2/SINK4
Possibly the most versatile line in the range. A favorite among our testers, both for its great casting performance, as for the way this line fishes in the water. Gives you a feeling of hitting a depth that will be putting the fly within perfect reach of an aggressive salmon during fishing in many varied pool structures.
SINK1/SINK3/SINK5
Fishing harder, stronger flowing rivers or trying to get the fly down that bit extra in a medium deep pool? This line will do the job and has also proven itself to be a really easy one to cast, both for accuracy and distance. Should be one of your main lines in the shooting head wallet. Versatile in a multitude of situations.
SINK2/SINK4/SINK6
Heading into the deep water fishing range, the unique Triple Density construction will bring the front of this line right down to the fish, while the back end will balance the line and make it easier to handle both during the cast, during fishing and during the lift-off from the water. It really does help eliminating snags in the later part of the drift to, due to the steeper sinking angle of the line.
SINK3/SINK5/SINK7
This is fast sinking... With features like the above line, the S3/5/7 sinks at a good angle and takes you fly down deep for those hard to get fish. The beauty is that it will still be manageable to cast, due to the unique taper and balance of the S5/7 portion in the line. This is line manufacturing at its best and the slim profile combined with the high density will make this baby sink as a brick.
