This is the short-shank version of the legendary Gamakatsu saltwater hook. The design of the SL12S comes from none other than the American Trey Combs, an internationally recognized big game fly fisherman. Primarily designed for pelagic fish species such as Tuna, Sailfish and Dorados, the "Trey Combs Big Game" is also very popular when fishing for Trevally, Tarpon and other flat speeders. The hook is made of tin-plated carbon steel and can be re-sharpened without any problems, once it has become blunt due to a hanger or something similar. This is a huge advantage over stainless steel hooks, which are usually difficult to re-sharpen.
