RECOMMENDATIONS Optimizing the maximum potential of any fly rod comes down to choosing the correct fly line for both climatic and water conditions as well as the angler’s chosen casting discipline and casting ability. We generally recommend matching the designated line weight with the designated rod weight as the best overall performance choice. However, all LOOP rods are designed to factor in a margin of tolerance to allow the fly fisher to increase or decrease the line weight depending on the particular fishing situation.
