Stroft wires made of nickel-titanium alloys (NiTi) are enjoying increasing popularity in the predatory fish sector - mainly because of their unique property of repeatedly returning to their old condition even after severe bending. However, there are also disadvantages - namely when "connecting" these nickel-titanium wires with swivels, karabiners, hooks and others. Crimps are often used for this purpose. But unfortunately these connections have strongly fluctuating breaking strength values, also because of the sharp edges of the ferrule. If the ferrule is squeezed too much, there is a risk of notch effects at the end of the ferrule (NiTi wires are generally more susceptible to notch effects than steel wires), which could reduce the breaking strength. If the crimp is too weak, there is a risk of slippage, which also leads to a reduction in breaking strength. Some companies also recommend "knotting". However, depending on the wire properties, only strongly fluctuating knotting load capacities are achieved. In addition, thicker monowires are so stiff that knotting becomes very difficult.
Stroft NiTi Monowire and Stroft NiTi Polywire solve these problems and are therefore the first choice when it comes to the ultimate predator leader. The connections are quick and easy to make. No additional ferrules, no crimping pliers - a simple, easy to tie clinch knot with 4 turns (see picture) is the solution - and with Stroft NiTi (with the thinner wires) it can even achieve a breaking strength of up to 100% of the linear breaking strength! (see table).
This has been made possible by a very specific adjustment of the alloy composition to those properties desired for predatory fish leaders - namely: highest bite resistance, super elasticity, optimum (easy) knotability, best possible shape memory, breaking strength/maximum knot breaking strength, sufficient elasticity (8%) and reflection-free surface.

Stroft NiTi Monowire and Stroft NiTi Polywire fulfil all these properties in an optimal way. A 0.20 Stroft NiTi Monowire, for example, has a breaking strength of 4.2 kg, which is almost achieved even in clinch knots (see table).

Colour: Carbon black matt

The noise that occurs when stretching NiTi Wire is typical of the material and is therefore a characteristic of NiTi material!
